CHRISTOPHER P. BENTON received his doctorate in
mathematics from the University of Houston and taught college
mathematics for twenty years. Currently, he holds the position
of Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Research at Alvin
Community College in Alvin, TX. Dr. Benton is a member of Congregation
Emanu El in Houston, TX, where he has served on their Board of
Directors and as Chair of the Adult Continuing Education Committee,
and in addition to the study of rabbinic literature, his interests
include songwriting, guitar, French horn, Native American flutes,
digital photography, advanced multivariate statistics, algebraic
topology, algebraic group theory, fractals and chaos theory, and
watching ontogeny recapitulate phylogeny.
